Vampire Books: Fangland
I am almost done with reading a book called Fangland by John Marks. It’s not my favorite vampire book of all time, but it’s an interesting read.

Fangs!
It took me a while to get into it, ok – I admit it, I started reading it, then put it down. I took it up again, put it down again. Third time was the charm. And I’m a reader – love to read.
I thought about the vampire books that I love and that I read over and over again. The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice (almost all of them, haven’t picked up Merrick yet), Bram Stoker’s Dracula…. and yes! I totally admit it, Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga (loved it!).
What made me read these particular books repeatedly? The characters. The passion. The angst. The drama. And a little love and sex didn’t hurt either!
The characters are unforgettable. They are beautiful, flawed creatures that I can’t seem to get enough of. Some are villains that I just can’t bring myself to hate. Just juicy and mesmerizing.
So, I can’t say that I will be reading this particular book again. It is definitely an interesting take on the vampire genre, but also has a satirical edge and commentary about today’s media.
VV (2 fangs, I’m afraid)
I am always looking for a great new vampire book. Got any I can sink my teeth into?
