Buffy the Vampire Season: Season 6

Yes, this season of  Buffy was a great season in the history of TV in my opinion.  I found myself getting caught up in it like I do the amazing shows that are on today, which I have been heard referred to as the Golden Age of television.  Great stories and great writing.  But this has vampires.  And so is better.

The season started with a slight dilemma, Buffy died at the end of the last season.  And Spike is sad.  So Anna is sad.  Willow says, hey no prob!  And uses her magical wily ways to bring Buffy back.  Thus the slaying and fun continue!

This season really develops Willow as a magic force to be reckoned with – and we also get to see the demise of her beautiful girl Tara.  Seeing the reconciliation of Willow and Tara followed by Tara’s death and Willow’s transformation in to scaaaaaary Willow was truly heart wrenching – the writers just tugged and tugged at the heart strings on that one.

I did find it funny, yet highly annoying, that Buffy is kept running around and stumped by a few geeks from her high school.  I mean, come on!  She has defeated the master, countless creepy demons and a huge former-mayor-turned-GIANT-snake.  And now she’s kept on her toes by pre pubescent Lex Luthors??!  I guess it kept the humor going.  The annoying humor.  Ok, I kinda like Andrew.

And then there was my favorite part – Buffy and Spike.   FINALLY.  And during the collapse of a building.  Hot.  Totally meant to happen.  I just adore Spike.  Period.  Buffy is crazy.  I love Spike.  Ok, there… I’ve said it.

Yup, this season rocked my Buffy world.  Which has been pretty big lately, since, well… it’s all I’ve been watching lately!  Help!  Hope they keep it up for the last season!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 5

Now, Season 4 was good. Season 5…. better. This season had me hooked from the very first episode, which features a showdown between Buffy and the most famous vampire of all (NO! not Edward!) …DRACULA.

I got all giddy and excited for this new season.

The writing in this season is far superior than the others. Not only are there kick ass storylines and lots of demons and monsters, but this season really starts playing with the viewer’s emotional involvement with the characters. They reeeeeally start playing with your emotions in this one. And I couldn’t get enough.

We get new characters in this season – Glory, a highly annoying god with a bad perm intent on destroying the world, and Dawn, a sister for Buffy and key of unlikely sorts. Rock on… But we also get the loss of a few key characters that rock the foundation and provide great new possibilities for good stories.

The Scooby Gang - Season 5

Buffy and her boyfriend, Riley, start having issues (mainly because he’s not a hot vampire with bleached out blonde hair) and Spike’s persistence with Buffy heats up (thank you thank you thank you!!)

The end of this season left me with my mouth open, chin to the floor and racing to get Buffy the Vampire Slayer:  Season 6!

Most mash ups are really lame, but this one (must admit) had me giggling!  Poor Edward, he’s just misunderstood!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 4

This show keeps getting better and better.  Season 4 saw more character development (Go Willow Go!!) and more and more of one of my favorites…Spike!

Now I must admit, Buffy Season 4 had a lot of “The Initiative” – the government backed agency doing their duty to kick some serious demon butt.  And, I was really getting tired of that story line.  Good thing it ended in this season!

But I did find that the story lines in this season were a bit more interesting and really had more drama and humor weaved in.  Some of my favorite episodes of the season were episode #10 “Hush” – where a demon steals the voices of everyone in Sunnydale, episode #11 “Primeval” – where they finally defeat Adam (this one almost seemed like the season finale!).

Ok, must admit that one of my guilty pleasures about this series is that you see Spike’s desire for Buffy increase.  And Spike has that bad boy allure that you just can’t resist!  Or I can’t!!  (Even though he does have a weakness for ditzes, I’ll show him!  HA!)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 3

Don’t get me wrong, I think the show has definitely hit its stride.  I love that the characters are developing more and that viewers now have a sense of a bit of history with them. The stories were more interesting and I love that Angel was resurrected!  Oh the drama!

Yes, drama was everywhere – Faith turns out to be a bad girl, Giles is fired (love that story line) and the mayor is a major bad guy (or snake if you prefer).  I like that Willow is becoming more interesting (I love the witchy witch coming out in her) and I think Xander is hilarious and geeky as always.

And so Buffy and the gang finally graduate after a dramatic battle with cheesy special effects.  Gotta love TV effects! Oh, and  Angel, did you reeeeeeeeally have to leave??

I think season 4 will bring on new insane adventures – hopefully with lots of vampires.  With their shirts off.

Yes, one of my favorite vampires is introduced in Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 2 – SPIKE.  He is just a vampire sex on a stick.

Ahem, but I digress…

Yes, this season has it’s share of other weird and scary monsters, demons and even another slayer (!!), but I think that the ongoing story as a whole is getting better.  The characters are developing a bit more and we’re finding out some pretty interesting facts about one of the main vampires, Angel.

Yes, Angel was not always the angel he is now and even “loses his soul” (and darn it, right after he and Buffy get it ON!! Sex-ay!!) and becomes a mega bad guy.  And I have to admit, I like it.  I miss having the bad scary vampires now-a-days.

The one ongoing annoying factor in this series for me is Drusilla.  Ugh.  I just want her to go away.  I hate the baby talk and the overall I’m-a-ruthless-killer-really-but-helpless-sickly-baby-and-needs-moi-spike-I-does attitude.  Ok, breathing now…. she just annoys me!  Anyone else?  Does she get any less annoying?

I found the end of the season to be absolutely great.  It pulled me in, I watched the last 3 episodes all in a row and stayed up way too late…. I really felt for Buffy!  Sorry, not going to give anything away!

Buffy - Season 1

I finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 1.  I was so excited to see the season that started it all.  I hate to say this… I was disappointed!

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad.  I just had expected more vampires.   I mean, come on, it’s Buffy the VAMPIRE slayer!

I know Sunnydale is on top of Hellmouth and thus the center for demons and monsters and ghouls (oh my!), but I was really looking forward to vampires, vampires, vampires!

I did get a good fill of Angel though!  Yes, Angel, yet another conflicted vampire determined to be a do-gooder, with a handsome furrowed brow and everything.

The series did not stray from the classic vampire, in that vampires are a monster of the night.  It was a bit refreshing to see the scary blood-sucking fiend again, especially since these days we are inundated with the Edward Cullen vampires (not complaining, mind you!).

I watched the series hoping for more vampires… Season 1 ended and it left me wanting more… vampires.  So, on with Season 2!  I know Spike is introduced, rowr.
